The season of Lent is fast approaching. We should all take some time beforehand to prayerfully consider what our Lenten discipline will be. We should choose a discipline (either fasting from something or taking on a new practice such as daily prayer) that will help to strengthen our spiritual lives.
Then, on Ash Wednesday (14th Feb.), join us at one of our services for the Holy Eucharist/Mass and the ancient rite of the imposition of ashes. The ashes remind us of our frailty and mortality, and ultimately of our need for God.
“Remember that thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return; repent and believe the Gospel.”
Services:
6:00am – St. Luke’s, Rock Sound
9:30amĀ – St. Mary Magdalene, Wemyss’ Bight
12:30pm – St. Luke, Rock Sound
5:00pm – St. Columba, Tarpum Bay
7:00pm – St. Michael, Green Castle
Please note that there will be no imposition of ashes outside of service times, except for those confined to their homes.
